My name is Annamarie Patron Olpin and I am a Junior in the Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts Department, with a minor in Theatre. I currently spend a majority of my time working part-time at a multi-million dollar Computer Software company, volunteering at one.TLC School for homeless children and working on various creative personal projects; while managing to maintain a position on the Dean’s List. Throughout my years at SF State I have been lucky to be apart of various organizations, including College Students in Broadcasting and Karate Alliance. My main priorities as a Representative would be as follows:
Communication: If elected as the College of Liberal and Creative Arts Representative, I would view my role as the liaison between administration, faculty and students. My main priority is to develop effective communication between the faculty and the student body. Effective communication is the tool to bridge the current gap between students and faculty.
Connection: Beyond administration, the student body would also like to feel a stronger connection to alumni. I believe that all Liberal and Creative Arts students would benefit and greatly appreciate mentoring and support from our distinguished alumni.
Collaboration: Learning has a synergy when students collaborate and work together whether it be in-school projects or community related projects. San Francisco State University is made up of such a diverse group of students; we should be taking advantage of the opportunity to work together.
