Environmental Resource Center

The Environmental Resource Center focuses on increasing sustainability throughout the campus.

Our team works towards promoting zero waste, educating students on various social justice and environmental issues, hosting informative environmental events/ workshops, and providing sustainability resources for students on campus. Our mission is to make sustainability easy, accessible, and fun! Described below are projects we are currently working on:

Sol Patch Community Garden: The Sol Patch Community Garden is a project of the student organization ECO Students and is supported by the Associated Students Environmental Resource Center, University Grounds, Sodexo at SFSU, and the California Student Sustainability Coalition. ECO Students maintains the garden space and crops which are used to educate the SFSU community about organic farming and sustainable food. To get involved email us at or find us on Facebook at

Power to the Pedal : We are collaborating with The Green Initiative Fund to provide free bike maintenance and bike workshops in the quad. Keep updated on this project by checking in on our Tumblr page.

Zero Waste: We are constantly working towards the goal of Zero Waste by 2020. Check out our integrated waste diversion efforts throughout the building, and look for our bin monitor volunteers who will help you sort your waste!

Vendor Grading System: We are currently working on a Sustainable Grading system for all CCSC vendors. This will help students make healthy, informed decisions and also help showcase some of the great sustainability efforts already incorporated by the vendors. Stay tuned for updates on this project.
