SFSU students have the opportunity to vote or be elected into the Associated Students Board of Directors each academic year.
In doing so, candidates experience many influential events such as the campaign process to having the chance to use their ideas to provide for the students here at SF State. Associated Students Elections are held each year during the Spring Semester. During this time, officers are elected to serve as the student government. These positions include President and Vice President, representatives of each college, and representatives of every class. The elections take place online, making it easy for students to vote from any computer location.
The AS Board of Directors serve a one year term and has set the following goals and priorities for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Enhance Student Engagement and Awareness

This will include four classroom and student organization canvass visits per month, to be done as a group, one weekly tabling session, a social media campaign highlighting each program, and flyer distribution throughout the campus. The campaign shall also promote and encourage consistent participation during public comment in AS BOD meetings.
Community Building and Inclusive Programming
