No, the LRC will not be advising you on your legal issues. As a referral service, the LRC will help refer you (after the initial intake process) to an organization or service that can help you with your legal inquiry.
The first step is to schedule an appointment with the LRC through the Calendly link. At your appointment, you will be asked to review and complete the intake form to attest your understanding of the LRC’s function. A member of the LRC staff will listen to your legal question and will then work to provide you with appropriate resources (organizations and services) that could help you. The LRC staff member will help you connect with the resource, if you would like that.
The LRC’s Intake Form functions both as a reconfirmation of your understanding of the LRC’s functions and as a tool for the LRC staff to track the conversations and details shared by the SFSU member to assist in providing them the most appropriate referrals.
