BOD & AAC

Associated Students Board of Directors Committee Meetings

The AS Board of Directors serves as your student government across campus, amplifying your voices to improve our university. Within the BOD, we have various committees, including Academic Affairs. This committee is chaired by the VP of Academic Affairs and is composed of all the college representatives. We focus on addressing issues of the academic experience on campus, including creating stronger college communities through this newsletter. Our meetings are open to everyone, and we invite you to share your concerns and thoughts with us during public comment. AAC meets every Thursday at 2:30 in the Cesar Chavez Student Center (T-152).

As a board, we meet biweekly on Wednesdays at 2:00 in Jack Adams Hall, and we would love to hear from you during public comment! We all have unique goals as individuals, but we also have 3 shared board goals:

Enhance Student Engagement and Awareness

Increase student engagement and awareness of AS programs and resources through a coordinated outreach campaign. This will include classroom and student organization canvass, weekly tabling a social media campaign highlighting each program, and flyer distribution throughout the campus. The campaign shall also promote and encourage consistent participation during public comment in AS BOD meetings.

Community Building and Inclusive Programming

The Associated Students Board of Directors will partner with on-campus programs to develop a two-day program for prospective sophomore high school students to increase enrollment by marketing unique campus resources and AS programs.

Food Insecurity Support

The Associated Students Board of Directors shall develop sustainable, long-term fundraising strategies for Gator Groceries beginning in 2026-27 to ensure its continued success.

We’re dedicated to carrying out all three goals this year – you may have even seen us present in your class recently! We’ve only just begun, and we can’t wait to update you soon on all the progress made.
