The College of Ethnic Studies has office hours Mondays-Fridays 9am-5pm

The College of Ethnic Studies now has a student lounge that is open to all students. It will be open M-F 8am-5pm in room EP 115.  It is a common-room space that has tables, a couch, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a printing station for students!

The College of Ethnic Studies Dean, Associate Dean, Department heads, faculty & staff are hosting a coffee hour with students on Tuesday October 28th from 9:30am-10:30am in EP 116.

The College of Ethnic Studies is hosting a luncheon with students, faculty and the 1968 student strikers. This is on Thursday November 6th from 11:30-1:30pm. We are inviting majors who would like to have lunch with the strikers and hear about the strike. For more details, see the email from the College. 

We also have some faculty updates. First, Africana Studies welcomes Shanice Robinson and Peace and Love El Henson as the Robert Corrigan visiting professors for the 2025-2026 academic year. 

Second, Cassie Miura joins the department this Fall as an Assistant Professor in Asian American Studies and the inaugural Takahashi Distinguished Chair in Nikkei Studies. Miura is a specialist in Japanese American and Nikkei literature and Okinawan diasporic identity. She previously served as Associate Teaching Professor at the University of Washington Tacoma.

Third, Omar Zahzah of the AMED (Arab Muslim Ethnic Diasporas Department) has published a book by Seven Stories Press, Terms of Servitude: Zionism, Silicon Valley, and Digital/Settler-Colonialism in the Palestinian Liberation Struggle. Â
